Execution over everything

If we're being honest, most of the “preparation” we do is really just procrastination. No one is immune to it. And this is especially true when it comes to health and fitness.



It's so tempting to watch another video, read another article, or prep for yet another diet. What’s not so tempting? Actually getting up, doing the workout, eating healthy food day after day, and putting down your phone. But what’s the point of all that prep if you never take action?


It’s comforting to believe that the reason you haven’t succeeded yet is because there’s something you don’t know. But the truth? The reason you probably haven’t succeeded is because there’s something you haven’t done. And that applies to every area of life.


Sure, it might be optimal to combine those seven overpriced supplements with your trendy greens powder mixed into water instead of just eating real vegetables—but wouldn’t it be simpler (and cheaper) to eat a few lettuce leaves?


And you already know that eventually, every food or ingredient will be demonized. So instead of obsessing over seed oils in every granola bar or cutting out anything with gluten, maybe just try eating natural, whole foods consistently—and reclaim your peace of mind.


Yes, your back hurts. So does your knee. And your hip. Oh, and your shoulder too. But instead of using that as a reason to do nothing, have you ever considered that your real problem might be a lack of movement and strength? Motion is lotion.


It’s not sexy. It’s not always fun. And I don’t make any money telling you to just stick to the basics—and actually do them. Everyone else is busy selling you the latest fasting book, the newest weight loss drug, or a class pass to a bootcamp that’s designed to make you feel like you died, just so you’ll think it “worked.”


That’s too bad. Because telling people the truth is actually pretty great.


But what really matters is what you do with it. So—what’s your next move?
