Things I Wish I’d Told You: The Advice I Never Got to Share with My Clients

I’ve had the joy of training and coaching some of the best clients I could ever ask for. I’ve enjoyed every conversation and every moment of one-on-one time with people who inspired me in ways they may never realize. The only problem was that there never seemed to be enough time in a session or call to say everything I wanted to share. So here are a few things I hope will stick with you, and I hope they help.
You are the sum of your daily choices. There will be days when making one small decision -doing a single workout, saying no to one more bite, or choosing one healthy meal - feels insignificant. But health is cumulative. Every choice matters.
No one is coming to save you. You are responsible for fixing this. If you were my client, I gave everything I could to help transform your life and health. But ultimately, only you can make and sustain the changes you want. Stop waiting for someone else: your family, friends, partner, or even your doctor. Like it or not, you are the only one who can do this for yourself.

"Four prescription meds, daily injections, and a triple bypass surgery are a lot more expensive and inconvenient than buying healthy foods and making the time to cook them." – Nate Dallas. Sometimes the truth has to be blunt.
There’s the life you have, and there’s the life you’re capable of living. You’re probably underestimating what you’re capable of, how good you can feel, and how great you can look. The only things separating you from where you are and where you could be are a few habits and the passage of time.
Fail faster. The most dangerous place to get stuck is the space between having an idea and taking action. It’s okay to walk into the gym and feel intimidated. It’s okay to try eating smaller portions of higher-quality food, even if it feels tough. It’s okay to change your mind and adjust as you go. What matters is that you act.
So, what can you improve in your life today using this information?
