Will you ever do it again?

Even if you don't admit it to yourself, one of the reasons you don't do the things you want to do - in health, fitness, or otherwise - is that you don't think you'll be able to be consistent with it. If you're only going to do it once, why even bother, right?
WRONG!
Oliver Burkeman said it best in his book Meditations for Mortals: “Doing something just once today…is the only way you’ll ever become the kind of person who does that sort of thing on a regular basis.”

So what is one thing that you can do today that is a good use of your finite time, instead of planning and researching?
What thing can you do today, even with the prospect that you might not be able to do it again?
So you don't think you'll actually get around to working out consistently? Still work out today.
You don't think you'll ever be the kind of person who just eats healthy, effortlessly Still, eat a healthy meal today.
You'll probably never have that peace and quiet, that time for yourself when you need it most? Still, carve out 5 minutes for today.
If you ever want to become the kind of person who "does the thing" regularly, you have to "do the thing" now. No other time exists outside of the moment we're living.
Yes, you might "mess up" or "fall off" tomorrow. And? So what? You can still try today. And then tomorrow becomes today, and you can just try again for the hell of it. Because all you have is today.
And don't do something only if it can be the BEST thing or because you're trying to be better. Do it because it's just a thing that's worth doing today for the sake of doing it. You don't have forever.
Spoiler alert: You'll never reach a point in your life when there are no problems, so stop acting like the ones you have now are holding you back. See it for what it is, and do the thing anyway.
